From 05.03. – On March 8, the Dalmatian Energy Agency participated in the World Days of Renewable Energy Sources in Wels near Linz in the Upper Austria region.
The reason why the region of Upper Austria was chosen as the seat of such days is that it leads among all European regions in the green energy transition.
The Östereiches Energiesparverband agency hosted the conference in Wels.
The conference was held from 5. until 8 March in the Stadt Halle, a city conference facility in the town of Wels, 20 kilometers from Linz, as the seat of the Upper Austria region.
An interesting thing we noticed in Wels is one of the famous factories of AC/DC converters for the solar industry – Fronius.
The World Days of Renewable Energy Sources started on Tuesday, during which the main event was a conference of young researchers – who also put up their research posters.
Wednesday included throughout the day the European conference on pellets, which again provided European energy policy frameworks and directives for the pellet industry, and a session from universities and companies producing pellets, not only from Europe, but also from the Canadian, Chinese, Turkish and Vietnamese industries.
The most interesting and obligatory part was the workshop “Cities and regions – drivers of energy climate neutrality” which was held on Wednesday from 14:00 to 18:30 and which invited all European energy agencies of local and regional character, as well as local communities.
Mrs. Claudia Canevari spoke about EED (European efficiency directive) and principles and directives. For the DEA, which operates in the public sector, the most interesting principle is:
Anette Jahn from the CINEA agency, which is an agency established by the EU Commission to support the European “green deal”, also gave a presentation at the same workshop. Here, there was an emphasis on knowledge and on supporting local leaders to implement the energy transition.
Mr. Seamus Hoyne from the University of Technology in Ireland, whose agency counts 30 years of work – led the workshop of the participants by dividing them into groups where the participants discussed things that can be improved in local government and where we see our agencies in the next few years.
They then followed “Best practice Examples”, where they participated:
Dir. host agency Christiane Egger, our colleague and director of Rege agency Julije Domac, and at the same time the president of FEDERANA, the networking of European agencies, with his presentation on the development of PV during the corona and the development of photovoltaic power plant projects.
By the end of the Workshop, there was further talk about real estate renovation projects – the outer envelopes of public buildings, as well as assistance and mechanisms for the transition of industry to the green transition.
This workshop was moderated by Filip Dumitru, director of FEDARENE.
“Smart E-Mobility conference” with Ms. Kai Tulius from DG Move, the transport directory – was the topic of the last day.
Various companies and institutes spoke at this part about “smart” batteries, chargers, types of charging, optimization of charging…etc.
