The latest installations include the headquarters buildings in Ulica Domovinskiga rata and Vukovarska Source: Dalmatinski Portal The Split-Dalmatia County continues to invest in renewable energy sources, installing solar panels on a number of its buildings. The latest installations include the headquarters buildings in Ulica Domovinskiga rata and Vukovarska Ulica in Split, on which solar panels have been installed. 212 photovoltaic panels with a total power of 80 kW were installed on the building in Vukovarska Street, while 126 panels with a power of 50 kW were installed on the building in Domovinsko rata Street. The total value of the investment in these two locations is more than 318,000 euros, and it is predicted that annual savings will amount to 25,000 euros, with a return on the investment within five years. Through the Dalmatian Energy Agency, in cooperation with the Health Center of the Split-Dalmatia County, solar panels were installed on four buildings of the Health Center. In Split, a 46 kW solar power plant has already been connected to the grid at the Mertojak clinic, while power plants in Imotski (99 kW), Vrgorac (68 kW) and the Children’s Dispensary in Split (37 kW) are expected to be connected these days. The expected annual production of electricity at these locations will be between 320 and 340 MWh, which represents approximately 10% of the total annual consumption of the Health Center, which consumes around 3,250 MWh per year. In addition to these projects, solar panels are also planned to be installed on the buildings of the Health Center in Kaštel Sućurac, Kavanjinova Street and on the old maternity hospital in Split. In addition to health care facilities, solar power plants have also been installed at several schools and educational institutions. The panels were installed at Kralja Zvonimir Elementary School in Solin, Marko Marulić Elementary School in Sinj, and Student Dormitory in Split. Also, a solar power plant reconstruction project was implemented at Ostrog Primary School in Kaštel Lukšić. These projects will significantly contribute to reducing energy consumption in the education sector, reducing costs and improving the environmental sustainability of schools. The county, its representatives say, continues with initiatives to reduce energy consumption and increase ecological sustainability, and expects significant financial and energy savings in the coming years.
