Zagreb, October 25, 2024. <\/strong> \u2013 In the premises of the Hrvoje Po\u017ear Energy Institute (EIHP) in Zagreb, a framework agreement was signed between the Dalmatian Energy Agency (DEA) and EIHP on the creation of a strategic energy plan for the Split-Dalmatia County. By signing the contract, the director of EIHP, Mr. Dra\u017een Jak\u0161i\u0107, and the director of DEA, Mr. Mario Jaki\u0107, announced cooperation that will support the development of long-term, sustainable energy infrastructure in the region.
\n This strategic agreement marks the beginning of cooperation between EIHP and DEA in scientific and professional areas of key importance for the energy sector of the Split-Dalmatia County. Special emphasis is placed on projects and initiatives such as the integration of renewable energy sources, sustainable mobility, energy storage, smart grids and digital infrastructure, the development of energy policies, as well as the production and application of green hydrogen. Additionally, the development of virtual power plants, international cooperation and education are included, which opens up the possibility of further improvement of professional capacities and energy technologies.
\n DEA and EIHP will also cooperate on the adaptation of the new Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which will ensure further development of infrastructure for refueling and supply of alternative fuels and contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the transport sector. AFIR is part of the wider climate package of the European Union called “Ready for 55%”, whose goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by at least 55% by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
\n By signing this contract, the Dalmatian Energy Agency and the Hrvoje Po\u017ear Energy Institute marked a significant step towards the development of new energy policies and infrastructure for the sustainable future of the Split-Dalmatia County.
\n The Dalmatian Energy Agency (DEA) is a public non-profit institution founded in 2022. and operates primarily in the territory of Split-Dalmatia County, in accordance with the needs in \u0160ibenik-Knin, Dubrovnik-Neretva and Zadar Counties, and as necessary in other parts of the country.
\nThe Hrvoje Po\u017ear Energy Institute (EIHP) is an institution owned by the Republic of Croatia whose activities include the implementation of scientific research in the field of energy, the provision of expert support to public authorities and advisory services on the domestic and international market. The Energy Institute, established by the Government of the Republic of Croatia to carry out professional and scientific work in the field of energy, is entrusted with the tasks of providing services essential for the implementation of the energy policy of the Republic of Croatia, and with the aim of fulfilling the obligations of the Republic of Croatia within the European Union, they include professional and scientific support in the field of energy analysis and planning at the state, regional and local level and increasing the use of renewable sources and energy efficiency. <\/p>\n
